Introduction:
To work with any database we need a database connectivity tool, which acts as a bridge between the user and the database. We need write the queries in this tool, which acts as a command to update and manipulate data and fetch data from the connected database. There are many such tools available. In my tutorials I will use DBeaver it is a versatile tool which can be connected to different databases and also free to use.
Database connectivity tools can be Exclusive and Multi-Purpose. Exclusive tools are those which can connect to a particular database. Like SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) supports Microsoft SQL Server, Teradata Studio Express supports Teradata, Oracle Instant Client or Oracle Database Client supports Oracle, etc. Multi-purpose database connectivity tools are those, which can connect to multiple databases such as Toad Data Point, DBeaver, DB Visualizer, etc.
